Creativity & Community
Because I believe creativity is a powerful catalyst for transforming individuals and communities, I've pursued a lifelong passion for arts education by organizing dynamic programs and events for young people.
2017 | Secured Neighborhood Development grant to create the mural above, complimented by mindfulness workshops at
PS 155 in Brownsville, Brooklyn. Worked with the talented artist and healer, Elizabeth Traina, who brought this vision to life.
Future Now NYC
2010 | Created a NYC Digital Storybook project for high school students from over 60 schools, which culminated in an interactive music, media and arts conference with over 100 high school students from 15 schools. Produced event and collaborated with Google, IDEO, Dubspot, World Up, Toshiba and other business partners to host "future labs" where students explored the future of their school, community, city, country and the world at large.
Youth Arts Festival
2005, 2006 | While working with The Leadership Program, I founded and produced their annual Youth Arts Festival which was hosted at The Knitting Factory. At each event, we showcased presentations from over 30 schools for their peers and parents. The stuff dreams are made of. Both events are among my favorite days, ever.
Learning Through an Expanded Arts Program
2003, 2004 | Since my very first job, I have had the privilege of doing work I loved - collaborating with some of NYC's most talented artists, musicians and storytellers helping to infuse creative thinking into young minds and hearts. Coordinated programs in more than 65 schools.
